Questions And Answers

Hello Mr. Megerian,

My son is an avid coin collector, and I had some questions about world monies.

Can you tell me what the unit of Chinese money is?   Do you have any money from China?

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Tom

Hello Tom,

Thank for your E-mail. I'm glad that your son is interested in coins. Perhaps I can offer you some suggestions to push him in the right direction. You should invest in things from the US Mint. I have a link to their site on my page. A silver proof set may be a good starter.

As to the Chineese unit of money, it is called yuan or renminbi.I have obtained some Chineese currency. It is quite interesting. Please E-mail me some more questions. Thank You, Jon.

Coin cleaning

There are very few instances when you should clean a coin. The only time is when it is from the ground, or extremly dirty. In these cases, use olive oil, and let it sit. DO NOT rub, scratch, or scrub. Pat dry w/cloth.
Be forwarned that cleaning with anything else may be harmful to your coins
